If you're looking for a relaxing weekend of doing very little, we don't blame you! However if you wish to use The Cotswold Hut as a base to explore the local area, it is perfectly located in the heart of the Cotswolds. We are just 15 minutes walk from the local village, 5 minutes drive to Cirencester and just 20 minutes drive to Tetbury, Stroud and Malmesbury, with the rest of the gorgeous Cotswolds on our doorstep; easily accessible and ready to discover. Here's a little taste of what's on offer locally...
South Cerney & Cotwold Lakes

The biggest village in Gloucestershire, South Cerney is a beautiful place; built in Cotswold stone with a pretty medieval church. Stepping out of the hut, you'll find yourself on Bow Wow, a small tree lined lane which leads into the village with the River Churn running down one side and the mill stream on the other side. With an amazing range of local amenities including a lovely cafe, a newsagents, convenience store and takeaways. There are also three public houses in the village, The Old George, The Oak and The Elliott Arms.
South Cerney is located within The Cotswold Lakes, an area made up of 150 lakes, many of which are now used for leisure activities including fishing, water-sports and even rallying. You'll find a golf club on the outskirts of the village - and you can also get out on foot to discover great walking trails and nature reserves.
Cirencester

Known as the Capital of the Cotswolds, Cirencester is a vibrant and character-filled town, full of independent shops, regular market days, great restaurants and an abundance of pubs and cafes. With quaint alleyways, open green spaces, the impressive St. John the Baptist church, a great theatre and thriving arts centre, there is so much to do and see - not mentioning all the historic sites including the unique Roman amphitheatre.
And the rest of the Cotswolds...
